All courses are conducted as part of the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme, and provide an enjoyable and progressive way to learn to sail. The main idea behind Inner City Sailing is that all young people, irrespective of background, should have access to the sport.

As much help as necessary. Young people who are unable to complete parts of the syllabus due to a disability will still receive a certificate, and all learners will receive help with any part of the syllabus when more strength is required. All sizes are also catered for.

RYA certificates are a significant achievement. Once completed, they can be used in conjunction with PE in school, or extra-curricular schemes such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award. All courses are designed to fit in with school terms and timetables, and consist of activities which focus on important areas of the school curriculum - physical and personal development, science and the environment and information technology.
